American Latvian Association's board members
discuss key sports issues during the board meeting in Los Angeles
(short version)
During the ALA's board meeting in Los Angeles,
head of the sports department Janis Robins met with several local
sports enthusiasts. Several topics of west coast and countrywide
importance were discussed at the meeting. One of the accomplishments
of the talks was initiation of a cooperation between ALA's sports
department and Los Angeles Novuss tournaments' organizers.

Janis
Daugavietis of Los Angeles has successfully organized
several Novuss tournaments over the last three years. More
than 100 people ages 9 to 90 participated in three open
tournaments in 2004.
After the concert, dinner, and cocktails,
Janis Robins, Novuss enthusiast Leo Veiss from Los Angeles
faced off in a friendly game of novuss against Janis Daugavietis
and 2004 top ranked player in Los Angeles Martin Leikarts. |
In a very close game Los Angeles duo of Janis
and Martin won. Before the game Janis Robins was presented the
official novuss shirt and hat of Los Angeles.
